Donner was honored by the Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis Education Association for his contribution of construction legal services for the development of its new facility in the East Falls section of Philadelphia. Paralegal MaryEllen Daley has been elected to become a Board Member of the Legal Clinic for the Disabled. The Legal Clinic is a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation which makes legal services available in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties to low-income persons with physical disabilities. The election recognizes MaryEllen's tireless support and volunteering efforts on its behalf. Even before she received full Board approval, MaryEllen was chosen to Co-Chair this year's 2008 Silent Auction. Henry J. Donner, B. Christopher Lee, Stanley B. Edelstein, William A. Christopher Lee addressed the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants on "Pitfalls in Constructing Contracts." Margaret M. Underwood presented a seminar sponsored by the American Arbitration Association on "Best Practices in Complex Case Arbitration." Margaret M. Underwood addressed the Sheet Metal Contractors Association of Northern New Jersey on the topic of "Collections -- A Legal Perspective." Stanley B. Edelstein presented for Lorman Education Services who sponsored a seminar on “Pennsylvania Construction Law Start to Finish–Creative Strategies for Project Completion and Litigation Avoidance” Course Planner and Speaker. B. Christopher Lee was a Panelist, American Arbitration Association on "Best Practices in Complex Construction Arbitration." Henry J. Donner addressed the Sheet Metal Contractors Association of America at the Annual Pennsylvania State Convention. He spoke about due diligence and measures to assure payment prior to undertaking work as well as the remedies available to contractors and subcontractors under the Pennsylvania Contractor and Subcontractor Payment Act. Margaret M. Underwood addressed the Philadelphia Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction on the issue of Mechanics' Liens. B. Christopher Lee addressed the Construction Financial Management Association on "Contractual Risk Transfer." Stanley B. Edelstein authored The Legal Intelligencer – "Superior Court Enforces Duty of Good Faith and Fair Dealing in Contract Implementation." Margaret M. Underwood presented a seminar sponsored by the National Business Institute titled "Pennsylvania Construction Law: What Do You Do When…?" The seminar covered issues relating to bidding, contract formation, change orders, delays, payment and dispute resolution. B. Christopher Lee authored "Indemnity Clauses -- How Much Risk is Too Much?" Construction Today, General Building Contractors Association, Inc. B. Christopher Lee addressed NECA, South Jersey Chapter on "Construction Claims in New Jersey." William A. Denmark conducted a seminar entitled "Fundamentals of Estate Planning," for the membership of The Mechanical Contractors Association of Eastern Pennsylvania, Inc., a trade association comprised of mechanical contracting firms doing business in the region. Bill Denmark discussed a number of topics concerning estate planning, including the importance of having a Will, key provisions to include in a Will, use of a Living Trust as a substitute for a Will, and the value of Powers of Attorney and Living Wills.
