About Jacoby Donner
More than seventy-five years ago, a Philadelphia lawyer named Myron Jacoby started
the law practice which is now Jacoby Donner, P.C. Long known as "Philadelphia
Construction Lawyers," that reputation continues for our extensive construction
law practice, but falls far short of describing the breadth of our practice
in serving our ever-diversifying client base.
The Jacoby Donner of today is a small firm of attorneys
dedicated to providing a wide-range of high-quality, cost-effective
legal services to businesses and individuals. In addition to the
construction law and construction litigation practices for which
we are most widely known, our practice includes business law and
commercial transactions, real estate, commercial litigation and
alternative dispute resolution, employment and labor law, business
succession and wealth preservation planning, estate planning and
administration, single and multi employer pension and profit sharing,
zoning and land use law and the law of associations and trade organizations.
The lawyers of Jacoby Donner, P.C. represent a cross-section of
experience and backgrounds. All principals of the firm practiced
at large Philadelphia law firms before joining the practice. Several
of the attorneys served on their respective law reviews and moot
court boards in law school, while one attorney served as a law
clerk to a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the
Third Circuit and another to a judge on the Pennsylvania Superior Court.
Although the firm believes that responsive, high-quality legal
services can be provided by lawyers in an environment different
from a mega firm of several hundred lawyers, the firm does not believe
that smallness is any reason for a lack of impact on the legal
community. Accordingly, two attorneys have served as chairs of
the Philadelphia Bar Association's Construction Law Committee,
and attorneys from the firm have served as chairs of the Philadelphia
Bar Association's Real Property Section and State Civil Judicial
Procedures Committee, both major components of that bar association
with in excess of 300 attorney members each; in addition, one attorney
has served as a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association's Board
of Governors. Several of the firm's attorneys are active with the
American Bar Association's Forum Committee on the Construction
Industry and Litigation Section, and one member serves on the steering
committee of that section's Construction Litigation Committee.
A member of the firm serves on the Board of Directors of the Design
Build Institute of America and another member is active in the
Delaware Valley Society of Association Executives.
For a number of years, the firm received honors from the Philadelphia
Volunteers for the Indigent program for providing volunteer legal
services to the poor on a pro bono basis. In addition, the firm's
attorneys regularly write articles in legal publications and teach
seminars for attorneys on construction and real estate issues.
The firm is active as a member of the Construction Financial Management
Association and is an affiliate member of the General Building
Contractors Association, the Contractors Association of Eastern
Pennsylvania and of the Associated General Contractors of America,
the American Institute of Architects, and
Lawyers Associated Worldwide (LAW).
